Yr13 The Bloody Chamber

  1. The Bloody Chamber invites the reader into a world where normality is turned on its head. The iconic and traditional 'damsel in distress' is actually the heroine in this short story, saved by her beast-slaying mother...

Reading this short story enabled me to truly explore this contemporary gothic piece, however being able to draw parallels between this novel and traditional fairytales, coming across the conventions of the Gothic along the way, is an amazing ability.
